Fuego Mesa means fire table, and the table is the whole point.
Andre and Gerald first met in primary school, then became family years later when Andre married Gerald’s cousin. Andre had spent years behind the wok at a hawker fried Hokkien prawn noodle business; Gerald was juggling university with work as a financial adviser. After a birthday meal at a Mexican restaurant, Andre saw how easily that food pulled everyone around one table, and called Gerald with the idea.
They opened in July 2025 beneath an HDB block on Race Course Road, designing the room themselves: marigold walls, sombrero lampshades, mosaic tiles, murals and a wall of vinyl records. Fifty seats, close together, on purpose.
